During the time of global pandemic sound designer Al Sirkett created the Ambient Isolation project as something to do with his daughter. The project ballooned into a massive crowdsource, where recordists from around the world captured the sounds of a locked down world.
In Part 1 of this episode we talk with Al about the story of the project and how it came to be.
In Part 2 we’ve assembled a collage of contributions with short descriptions from some of the recordists that participated. This is a peaceful, meditative collage so allow yourself some space to take it in properly.
This was (is, still listening or re-listening to the recordings) a terrific idea and I’m glad it was done. It is very thought-provoking, even sad. Thank you for doing it and for telling us about it on the podcast
