285 – The Sound of Arrival

In this re-podcast of an episode from 2018 we talk with Re-Recording Mixer Bernard Gariépy Strobl and Supervising Sound Editor Sylvain Bellemare, about their work on Denis Villeneuve’s sci-fi epic Arrival. They tell us about the way they brought the soundtrack of the film to new heights.  They even created an entire character in post, that was not in the script, through communications chatter and world-izing all the speakers and devices. This is a great talk about a fascinating film.
